AutoTrans (DOS)
_________________________

What is it?
AutoTrans is an optional software package that allows you to do automated collection, display, and storage of your shop floor data, both variable and attribute. It stores the quality control data in standard SPC Express data files. It runs on IBM PC or compatible computers including the IBM Personal System/2.

What makes it special?
First, its ease of use. From the Main Menu you select from any of 15 major options with one keystroke - no maze of menus to confuse you. If you don't understand a prompt or question, you simply press the F1 key and a help screen will pop-up explaining exactly what that prompt means.

Another special feature of AutoTrans is how automatic it is. Once set up, you can have it collecting, displaying, and storing data from up to 32 different gages either in X-bar R or Histogram format, all without operator involvement! If any one of your 32 monitored processes goes out of control, AutoTrans will alert you, even if you're at the Main Menu! Imagine, 32 different part number / characteristics being charted all at the same time! If you have more gages, simply add another computer and hook them together with an inexpensive local area network - you get virtually unlimited collection and storage capabilities. It's easy with AutoTrans!

What are its main features?
  • Simple one-menu interface, making it very easy to use.
  • Powerful "context sensitive" help system with built-in glossary.
  • Ability to collect, display, and store data from up to 32 different gages automatically, without operator input.
  • Real-time graphs of your incoming data can be displayed in your choice of a 2 or 8 window format.
  • Data is stored in standard SPC Express format and can be viewed immediately by any SPC Express or AutoScope user on your local area network.
  • Ability to edit your data after it has been collected.
  • Action Reports can automatically be printed if your process goes out of control.
  • Ability to add notes, assignable causes, and track things such as operator, lot control number, date, time, and much more!
  • Centralized network monitoring using the optional AutoScope module.
  • Three level password system allows you to control who can enter & change your valuable data.
  • CAD viewing hot-key allows you to display part drawings of the part that is being inspected.

  • Mail manager allows sending and receiving mail messages with other AutoTrans and AutoScope users on your network.
  • Customizable "Exit Menu" which links to all other MMS products plus any other application on your system.
  • Automatic disk logging of critical events (out of control, trend, shift, etc.)

Who Needs It?
Anyone who wants to use electronic gages to check product dimensions on the shop floor needs AutoTrans. It reduces or even eliminates the costly, time-consuming and error-prone process of manual data entry.

How can it help you?
AutoTrans gives you instant feedback on how your process is doing. Its ability to show you graphs of one, two or eight different process variables on the screen at one time is unprecendented. Only AutoTrans combines this kind of "real-time" data collection, display, and storage with an extremely easy-to-use interface. What's more, you can hook together up to four inexpensive display screens and put them right at a machining center so that the operators can see how they're doing as they work. there has never been anything like AutoTrans before!
